Guinness World Record and Soccer

An attempt to break a world record took place and Bob Jones University last weekend. Do any of you know if it was successful? - C

Yes, they got the number they needed. I think they had 3800 signatures before the game was over, and presumably some people waited to sign until they were leaving. It will be a while before Guiness verifies the results.

From a BJU e-mail in preparation for the event:

IMPORTANT: Kazoos may not be used as a cheering device. They could disrupt the teams' concentration on the field and could be a bad testimony to our community.

At what point do they have to put the kazoo's away? Can they use them at half-time?

Actually, the NCAA prohibits artificial noisemakers at soccer games. We had a situation with the women's team where the men's team of a particular school positioned them selves right behind out keeper and taunted her and used artificial noisemakers to try to distract. I had them kicked out based on that rule.

I've been to BJU intra mural games - it doesn't seem like kazoo's would be much of a problem - especially if all the fans had equal access to them.

Glad to hear they made the record. It is nice for BJU to be in the news for something other than Presidential endorsements. :)

What does the NCAA rule book say about dead fish?

Freshwater fish are fine, but salt water fish are banned.
